In order to use the eAssistant, JAVA must be installed on your system (min. JAVA 1.7 or higher). Additionally, the support of JAVA Web Start is required.
We recommend the use of OpenWebStart. With the installation the link between "jnlp" file and JAVA Webstart is set automatically. A suitable OpenSource JAVA is loaded automatically at the first start.
Via the link in the web browser the JAVA Webstart file (file extension .jnlp) is loaded and then executed. Which browser you use for this does not matter. Some browsers block the download of the "jnlp" file, because it can execute active content. You can still download the file by selecting "Keep" in the download area of the browser. You can ignore the warning here. You can also save the "jnlp" file for next use. This does not need to be downloaded again each time.
If the browser only offers "Save" when you click on the start link, either JAVA or the link to JAVA Webstart is missing. If JAVA is available with JAVA Webstart, you can execute the file with the application javaws.exe.
